Title: Innovative Strategies for Sustainable Food Processing: Enhancing Quality, Reducing Waste, and Promoting Circular Economy
Special issue: This special issue aims to address the pressing challenges in the food processing sector by focusing on pioneering strategies that enhance food production and quality, reduce food waste, and promote sustainability. In an increasingly globalized world, it is essential to safeguard the sustainability of food systems for present and future generations. This issue will serve as a platform for sharing innovative research and practical solutions that support the sustainable development of the agri-food chain.
Scope: We invite research paper and review papers submissions that explore a range of critical topics, including:
- Sustainable Food Processing Technologies: Advanced processing techniques such as high-pressure processing, pulsed electric fields, cold plasma etc. for improving food safety, quality, and shelf life.
- Waste Reduction and Valorization: Strategies for minimizing food waste throughout the supply chain, including innovative packaging solutions, by-product utilization, and food waste valorization etc.
- Sustainable Packaging: Development and adoption of eco-friendly and sustainable packaging materials and technologies.
- Food Safety and Quality: Ensuring food safety and quality throughout the production and processing chain, including novel methods for pathogen control and quality assessment.
- Circular Economy: Promoting a circular economy in the agri-food sector through innovative practices and technologies.
